Each year, Christmas reminds us of the great gift of salvation that God gave the world through the birth of His Son, Jesus. It is a time to focus on what that gift of Salvation means to each of us and to all people in the past, here now, and in generations to come. Each week, we will look at what makes that gift the perfect gift – everything we need and everything we should want in this world, because of the hope of the promised one to come. We will also be spreading the good news of Christmas in the following ways:
Angel Tree
Again this year, we will partner with our local school system to help 20 children/youth with Christmas presents. Beginning Sunday, November 9th, a tree (filled with angel ornaments with monetary amounts on each angel) will be placed in the foyer. We are trying to raise $1,500.00 to help purchase the gifts. If you want to help, take an ornament off the tree, place your donations in the envelope provided, and place it in the wood church receptacle. We also need volunteers to shop for the gift lists provided by the schools. If you would like to shop for us, please see Steve.
Deck the Halls
We will begin decorating our building on Sunday, 11/30. beginning at 2:00 p.m. We invite everyone who would like to help to come. We will have a soup and sandwich supper for all volunteers. If you’d like to help with the meal, contact Steve.
Youth Lead Worship
On Sunday, December 21st, our children and youth will lead the worship and present the Christmas story. We will be calling a few practices to prepare, so be on the lookout for more information.
LIVE Nativity
Saturday, December 13th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This year’s theme is “A New Light has Dawned.” Our focus will be on Jesus being the light to a dark world. Christmas is a celebration of lights, but we need to remember that there is only ONE light that pierces the darkness, offering us the peace and hope of God’s love, grace, and mercy to all who live in darkness. A rehearsal will be held on Saturday, December 13th, at 2:00 pm
Un-Deck the Halls
Sunday, January 11th Beginning at 2:00 p.m., we will take all of our Christmas decorations down and pack them away. If you have any questions, please see Steve.
Church Office Closed
The Church office will be closed the following days for holiday breaks. November 27th & 28th December 25th, 26th & 31st January 1st
