March Mission Focus
Hanging Rock Church Camp Hanging Rock is a Christian Camp & Retreat Center that provides opportunities for Churches, Individuals, Families and Communities to establish & strengthen their relationship with Christ. Hanging Rock is supported by 70 Church of Christ and Christian Churches in west-central Indiana and east-central Illinois. Established in 1946, Hanging Rock has a rich history of thousands of past campers & retreat guests who have been impacted with long lasting memories and changed lives. This ministry will always be concerned with the integrity of its Christian testimony to the constituency and community in whom it operates and serves. Hanging Rock is a 501(c)(3) organization, committed to offering great hospitality. Our team practices 1 Peter 4:9 Hanging Rock has many ways to give. You can get involved by volunteering, being a pray worrier for the ministries, or give financially. Right now they are in the middle of a campaign to expand the dinning hall. In their December email they updated the project. Here is that update: The Dining Hall project keeps moving forward. The walls and the roof should be going up very soon. Our hope is that this will be ready for us to use in February. Please keep this project in your prayers. We have anticipated the total cost of the project to be about $400,000 with furnishings. We have raised all the money for the tables and chairs. Which is great! Still needing about $15,000 to get the rest of the furnishings. We have raised $220,769 for the building. We have been given a $25,000 matching donation and we are hoping to get that matched at the banquet. We anticipate having a little over $100,000 left to borrow to finish this building for next year. We will be working diligently to pay that off by the end of next year. Here is a list of the furnishings that Todd put together: If you would like to donate toward any of these items, that will help reduce the total cost for furnishing the building: · Upright warmer - $880.00 · Drawer warmer - $970.00 · Sheet pan holder - $300.00 · Table rack - $300.00 each need 2 · Chair rack - $ 250.00 each need 2 · Trays - $805.00 · Cups - $100.00 · Floor cleaner - $1,700.00 · Utility carts - $160.00 each need 2 · Condiment dispenser - $400.00 each need 3 · Silverware - $300.00 · Salt and pepper shakers - $30.00 · Cup racks - $12 each need 10
Footprints of the Son January mission focus is Footprints of the Son. An all inclusive school for all children including those with special needs in Haiti. Several in our congregation sponsor children in the school. The Church also financially supports their work. Maybe you are feeling led to sponsor a child on your own. This is a great way to support the ministry as well. If you have questions please ask Lisa Vitaniemi for details about Footprints of the Son .
