Gideon International
Spreading the Message of Hope This Holiday Season** As the holiday season approaches, it's a time for reflection, gratitude, and giving. This November and December, we shine a light on Gideon International—an inspiring association comprised of Christian business and professional men and their wives. With a profound mission to share the message of Jesus Christ, Gideon International plays a pivotal role in reaching hearts and spreading hope through their diligent efforts.
Founded in 1899, Gideon International is best known for its remarkable work in distributing Bibles and New Testaments, particularly in hotels around the world. However, their outreach is extensive and strategically crafted. Recognizing that not everyone is actively seeking spiritual guidance, Gideon International places Scriptures in a variety of public spaces—doctor's offices, schools, prisons, and military bases— ensuring that the Word of God is accessible to all. This powerful mission allows those who may not yet realize their need for faith to encounter the message of Christ when they least expect it.
At the heart of Gideon International's mission is the belief that personal testimonies can change lives. Footprints of the Son

Each month, we send financial support to a specific mission both here at home and aboard. These missions include:
- Love in the Name of Christ of Boone County (LOVE, INC.)
- Hope for His Children in Africa
- Covenant Mountain Mission Bible Camp in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia
- Foot Prints in the Son in Haiti
- The Gideon’s International
- Hanging Rock Christian Assembly in West Lebanon, Indiana
- Local benevolence and emergency funds.
Footprints of the Son
January mission focus is Footprints of the Son. An all inclusive school for all children including those with special needs in Haiti. Several in our congregation sponsor children in the school. The Church also financially supports their work. Maybe you are feeling led to sponsor a child on your own. This is a great way to support the ministry as well. Hope for His Children
For the months of May and June, we are financially supporting Hope for his Children. This mission was started by Chad and Michelle Timmons, members of Dover Christian Church.
This ministry shows the love of Christ to orphaned and abandoned children in need around the world. Let us prayerfully think about how God can move us to help. Hope for His Children is a 501 (c) 3 organization. If you would like more information, visit their web site. hopeforhischildren.org
The MISSION of Hope for His Children has two parts:
· To Increase awareness among family, friends, churches and communities regarding the desperate needs orphaned, abandoned and impoverished children of the world face.
· To generate support for orphaned, abandoned and impoverished children of the world in the form of: financial contributions, donations of various supplies, prayer commitments and mission trips.
Mark 10:16 NIV- “And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”

Shalom House
The Shalom Community of Lebanon who sponsor the Shalom House Food Program, which provides hot meals to Boone County residents at the Shalom House in Lebanon, also provide a sack lunch food program to children throughout Boone County during the summer months and other school breaks. This programs provide food free to those in need.
We have been actively involved in giving of both our time and money to this worthy outreach to our community. Please watch for our next sign up sheet to volunteer.
