​Most of you know that Lisa and I were missionaries to the island Republic of Haiti for a year from June of 2011 to June of 2012.  We have not been back to Haiti since we returned in 2012 and have dearly missed our Haitian friends and our American missionary friends.  Well, God has provided us the opportunity to return to Haiti this coming May for an 11-day trip, and we are extremely excited.
 
We will be leaving on Monday, May 15th and return on Friday, May 26th.  During this time, we will be spending time in the capitol city of Port-au-Prince, which is Haiti’s largest city with over 1 million residents.  One of our missionary friends operates a hostel of sorts for short-term missionaries traveling in and out of Haiti.  We will then be traveling to the far west of Haiti to visit with Zach and Christie Clayton, whom we sponsor as a church, and spend time with them as they work with their communities in drilling and maintaining water wells.  This area of Haiti is very arid and much like our deserts of the southwest U.S.  We will then travel about 2 hours and return to the city of St. Louis du Nord, which is where we lived while in Haiti.  There we will visit with our Haitian family and friends.  We first traveled here in 1995 and made countless trips over the years.  It will be so good to be with them again.
