From Steve’s Desk:
One Year Anniversary - It is hard to believe that it is our 1-year anniversary here at Advance Community Christian Church. What a great year it has been! Everyone has been so welcoming and kind. Lisa and I truly feel a part of the family. We praise God for His plan in bringing us together for His glory and service. Thank you for your love, encouragement and support. Pastor Appreciation Thank You – Lisa and I feel so blessed and appreciative for your gift for Pastor Appreciation Month. The gift of a Starbucks gift card and two coffee mugs is a “very” appropriate gift. Thank you so much! We appreciate you too! As we approach Thanksgiving....“I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart; I will enter His courts with praise...” You are probably familiar with these beginning words to the song entitled “I Will Enter His Gates.” This song is an upbeat, up-tempo song of praise that describes our thankfulness as we approach God. It is taken directly from Psalm 100. Thanksgiving has been described as a frame of mind or an attitude; but in this song and scripture it is more than that, it is a conviction of our soul and a way of life. To live a life of thanksgiving, “ThanksLiving,” should be our response to what God has done for us. I wish I could take the credit for creating the “ThanksLiving” phrase, but we have to credit it to the wise Anonymous. As Thanksgiving approaches, may we focus not just our minds on making plans for the holidays, and not just adjust our attitude or thoughts to be more thankful, but be convicted to change our lives to living more thankfully. This month our sermon series will challenge us with God’s Word in our ThanksLiving: feeling it, saying it, showing it and living it. Thanksgiving shouldn’t just be a time of thanksgiving, but an expression of it– it should be the way we live our lives. Happy Thanks... Living Everyone!
